I had some very hard couple of years lately… Exams, first job, exams again… So I didn’t have much time to travel or to have fun…
But, this summer I was free… So, me and my boyfriend decided to get in the car and… go!
First, we visited my parents in Constanta. The seaside was great…
But we really wanted to see the mountains…
We also visited my boyfriend’s parents in Focsani, Vrancea and begin our trip from there… We bought a map from a gas station and decided our itinerary… Onesti, Valea Oituzului, Tg. Secuiesc, Covasna, Comandau, Reci, Sf. Gheorghe, Baile Tusnad, maybe Harghita. Decisive for us were all those signs of picturesque routes and sightseeing spots :D It wasn’t quite real… :D
Onesti is a really nice small town… I don’t think I would like to live there, because it is too small, but it was tidy and lively…
We drove on, hardly waiting to enter the mountains, to feel the smell of the coniferous trees and hear the sound of jingle little rivers…
The Oituz Valley is a beautiful hill zone, crossed by the Oituz river…

On top, at 800m height, there is The Oituz Motel - 2 stars. The view was great but the rooms weren’t so nice… :D
We decided to have some coffee and drove on…
We wanted real mountains, with rocks and waterfalls…:)
In the afternoon we reached Covasna, the old spa and health resort… All the hotels were full, because that, at the end of the week, the town sheltered a Traditional Song and Dance Festival in the Fairy Valley… We were pretty concerned because it was getting late and harder to find somewhere to spend the night.
So, we were near the road scanning our map and wondering what to do next… when a man asked us what happened… He also told us he had retired and he had moved in Covasna one month before and he was happy to help some fellows from his native Bucharest… He called someone and set everything for us to go to his friend’s villa in Comandau, a little forest locality. He assured us that we would be very satisfied and we could stay as much as we like…

And he was right… The forest road wound for 20 km till 1000m height… The view was great… The smell was relaxing… The villa was a nice wood construction and we had it all at our disposal for 70RON/night (22$/night)…

It also had a brick grill and in the back, a winter sport track… Wow! Too bad we were in the summertime and we couldn’t ski…

We were absolutely amazed by that place… Because we were used to go, like many people from Bucharest, to the Prahova Valley (Brasov, Sinaia, Poiana Brasaov, Predeal etc), the nearest and most famous tourist zone from our country…
We discussed with the man that let us in and he told us that many families from Bucharest bought house lots in the area and that the zone was growing…
We spent just a night there, we had a nice dinner with grilled meat, potatos and some finger-shaped “mici” …Yam, yam! :)

We were decided to come back some day with our friends, probably in the winter season so we could enjoy the sport track… I have the number if you are interested…:) You know, the winter is almost here…:)
Next day, our trip continued…
